June 9, 2005

Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM will be headlining the Extreme Distortion Festival on July 22 in Laval, Quebec. A possibility exists that a few more Canadian dates will be added for August.

As previously reported, KATAKLYSM will enter Studio Victor on July 10 to being laying down the drum tracks for their new album with the highly anticipated return of oginal drummer Max Duhamel. The rest of the album wil be recorded at guitarist J-F Dagenais's JFD studios over the remainder of the summer.

"In the Arms of Devastation" is schedualed for a February 2006 release, which will mark the band's 15th anniversary and will be celebrated with the band's first-ever DVD, "The Test of Time". The disc, which is scheduled for release later in 2006, will feature documentary-style footage spanning the band's career from 1991 to 2005, including the "making of" the new album, live footage, clips, interviews and tons of other goodies.
